The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

SDGs for Children is a program that arises from curiosity and games. Our methodology is based on challenges, where collaboration, creativity, empathy, research and values are very present. Learning is structured in missions, which are related to the context that we are living after the COVID19 pandemic and the Sustainable Development Goals, and which aim to maintain peace in the world, protect the planet, ensure that all people have better living conditions, end poverty, hunger and that all children have access to education. The activities are gamified and are complemented with immersive technology through the Xtended Learning APP

The event aims that children acquire knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development, including the following topics:  human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity.

The event is comprised of 5 missions: 

  • Mission 1: Identify and choose a community need or problem that you empathize with
  • Mission 2: Prepare and develop a strategy for change.
  • Mission 3: Take action. Develop a prototype and implement the SDG project.
  • Mission 4: Commit and contribute with your actions to sustainable development 
  • Mission 5: Reflect on the way you connect with what you are learning and doing and on how it impacts the community.

The event uses the App Xtended Learning.

Each Xtended Learning experience is made up of 3 levels of gamification:

1. Game environment

2. System of evolution, continuous progress and recognition.

3. Collaborative game system

These experiences are made up of "rounds" or "themes" where the user learns a general concept by visualizing a key situation or concept, listening to the definition of these concepts, reviewing through interaction with the environment and challenging other teams with questions related to the learnings of each “round”.

The content of each round is gradually activated, to encourage concepts and competitiveness. Each "round" or "theme" is comprised of:

✓ Key Situation: The user observes an academic situation, topic or concept from within; Through a video that transmits concepts related to the main theme of each round.

✓ Product: Videos that can go from the teacher explaining the topic, scenes where the user observes the applied concepts, graphics that bring explanations about key concepts to the user.

✓ Learning: The student receives auditory or graphic micro-learning about the concepts visualized during the key situation, with a duration ranging from 1 to 3 minutes per audio.

✓ Interactive Environment: The student, through augmented reality and interaction with scenarios or images related to the class topic, will be able to review content or obtain tips or keys regarding the concepts learned.

✓ Face 2 Face: Students will challenge each other through multiple questions and answers about the content of each “round” that they can exchange between teams.


The event is addressed to primary and secondary school students
