The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
There are three major objectives of the course: to make students to be more aware of social issues, sustainability and effective decision makers by understanding the equality of opportunity and by examining the meaning social responsibility of business organizations; to understand the link between social responsibility, sustainability and human progress; and to provide basic theoretical and methodological tools for applying their knowledge to develop a social responsibility project and to evaluate it.
