In an attempt to delay the spread of coronavirus, governments, businesses, and other stakeholders around the world have taken necessary steps to respond to the crisis. In the Philippines for example, quarantines and lockdowns have been enforced, limiting mobility to essential activities, suspending public transportation, and forcing several industries to shut down.
The event provides a platform where stakeholders can build capacities to address the issues on the food supply chain amidst COVID-19
By the end of this event, participants will be able to:
- Explain the implications of COVID-19 response on the economy and food supply chain;
- Discuss practical experiences of those involved in the production, transportation, and trade of food; and
- Explore possible strategies to address short- and long-term risks to food supply chain in the context of COVID-19
